Hearty Keto Chili Recipe

This hearty keto chili recipe is perfect for cold days and won't derail your low-carb lifestyle. Packed with just enough heat, rich flavors and healthy ingredients, this chili is sure to provide the protein and fat you need to fuel your life.


  • 2 pounds of ground beef
  • 1 large bell pepper, diced
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, no sugar added
  • 1 can of tomato sauce (8 oz), no sugar added
  • 1/2 cup bone broth or beef stock
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil or avocado oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, avocado, fresh cilantro, keto-friendly tortilla chips


  1. Heat a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.

  2. Add the diced bell pepper, onion, and garlic to the pot. Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.

  3. Stir in the olive oil, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and bone broth or beef stock.

  4. Add the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.

  5. Reduce the heat to low and let the chili simmer for at least 30 minutes. The longer it simmers, the better. But not entirely necessary if you are in a rush.

  6. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.

  7. Serve hot with your favorite keto-friendly toppings.
